We recently had the joy of celebrating the return of our Kenya Mission Team with a special Mission Sunday at GVCF.
As part of the service, Samuel shared one of the messages he had been teaching while ministering in Kenya. He challenged us to consider a deeper understanding of poverty—not simply as a lack of material resources, but as the breakdown of our relationships with God, with others, with ourselves, and with creation.
It was a timely and thought-provoking message that reminded us the gospel is about restoring every one of those relationships through Jesus. Samuel’s teaching encouraged us to look beyond outward need and consider God’s heart for true restoration and transformation in every community, including our own.
