Sioport Conference

Eli – Instead of helping the one, we are helping the many.

It was the second-to-last day of the conference, where Samuel continued to share on the question “What is poverty?” and the 4 relationships. These relationships with God, ourselves, others and creation, that if broken, cause poverty, not only economically, but spiritually and socially too.

Additionally, my father continued to preach on how to be a humble leader, how to keep peace and how to disciple the next generation of leaders in the church.

At these sessions, I was able to sing a Swahili song called “Ni wewe tu bwana” with their incredible worship team. This translates to “It is only you, Lord”.

In the afternoon, we sat with the young people, where they had the opportunity to ask us questions on many different topics.

Today was the last day of the conference; however, both Dad and Samuel summarised their sermons. I was privileged enough to lead the congregation in communion and to sing a song of blessing as we went back out into our respective areas. Afterwards, we had the certificate ceremony with around 100 local pastors and young people who were involved in the 4-day-long conference receive a certificate and a donation of materials.

We continue to thank our GVCF family for their support as we now start to conclude our mission trip
